We are testing a fully virtual quoting process for lighting right now While I know we may sacrifice some deals off of “trust” built in person Early results were the first 10 days trying it, our contact rate + quote sent numbers increased 119% compared to the previous period…

So the pipeline is filling up and those numbers look good but we obviously need to see the one metric that actually matters go up…. And that’s sales. Pipeline filling which is encouraging tho. Would love some tips from yall on how you “humanize” virtual quoting

@dylthorn We’ve done in person for temp for 6 years and perm for the entire last year. We find when looking at marketing data our biggest bottleneck is lead->in person estimate booking rate is low. So we find we’re getting more quotes out now and then offering a “final walkthrough” in

@rathbunholdco But is total your units sold number way up because of more volume of given estimates ?
View tweet → - 5Tweet 52026-06-01
@drakesickpow Exactly… statistically speaking with this model my close rate could cut in half and we’d make more money….

Every contractor that comes to my house pitches financing early and often. We sell maybe 5% of our lighting customers through financing. Starting to think I’m leaving a lot of 🍞 on the table

People who have a design-visually focused product. What CRM/quoting tools are you guys using to sell the dream visually on estimates? Feel like jobber is lacking in that department and their ability to set up recurring contracts sucks too

Kitchen cabinet guy asks for 50% deposit to get started. Which I’m down for and give (cash) Now he’s asking for another 25% while the kitchen looks like this. (Never communicated the installment schedule prior) I am actually all for taking deposits for material but this is https://t.co/D5tS8OROh7

It is a rule of business that if you go on a sales tear for multiple weeks you will follow it up with the worst sales stretch you’ve had in 6 months that will make you question everything you once knew. Many such cases. I am currently cases.

After closing on my house I’ve had these contractors out: -pressure washer -painter -drywaller -4 kitchen guys -backyard remodeler -pool guy -duct cleaner 4/10 showed up to the appts on time 1/6 who were late sent an apology text Do with that information what you’d like

@StumpGuyTy The painter moved the finish date 3x. Took 14 working days to paint a 2100 square foot house. Asked for $1000 more while my house was covered in prep. I had to be out of my apartment on the 31st and he wasn’t done on the 30th. So my movers couldn’t move me in. Pure hell 😂

@Paul0Montenegro 3/4. 2 of the kitchen guys showed up on time for the quote. The one who came with samples and inspiration and sent follow up photo mockups of what we want got the job.

3 weeks of owning a house 90% of contractors ain’t SHIT If you are a bid-based trade. Remodeling, kitchens, painting, lighting, flooring, etc If you come to the quote appt with inspiration photos for the client + provide a visual mockup w/ your quote You will win SO MUCH work

Little nugget from tonight’s group call: Next time someone asks you for a discount after you quote them. Subtract it from what you think you’ll NET on the job Most of the time people knock $100-1000 off a quote and actually decrease their NET by 30-50% and don’t even realize it

Just bought a house. Here’s the contractor report card so far: -Painter (referral from friend who used him) took 3 texts and 2.5 weeks to get me a quote. When I finally got the quote, I asked 1 question about ADDITIONAL WORK and he took 3 days to get back to me… he will not be

@ToddLlewellyn @joshkadkins @hvacseo This is wildly coincidental. Got this update today from my team. We filmed all of these about 10 days ago for multiple steps in our funnel. Greeting video VSL, post booking VSL, on our way video, post quote video https://t.co/wEZhXqQpRT

I’m finding one of the things I consistently overlook is sales rep/technician training and practice setup. I see massive companies doing daily role plays, weekly performance reviews with objection overcome trainings from things seem that week, etc. Gotta be better there
View on X →@Bobbyvickers Dude @jamesonhaslam and I talked about this last week regarding builder/other contractor referrals. Most people think it’s just great because they’re free and relatively warm leads (which is awesome) But they also put like zero operational lag on your sales teams…
View on X →@bprintco @dylthorn You’re not going to be there + homeowners will retain probably 10% of what you tell them. Then they’re expected to turn around and be the sales rep to their spouse on your behalf. Any sort of pro-your company propaganda to FEEL different is the way.
View on X →@Bobbyvickers Wildly enough I filmed a video for YouTube yesterday about how we closed way more banger jobs when we started doing itemized quoting (not packages) and included pictures in every line item. Don’t make the wife become your sales rep to her husband or vice versa
View on X →@Bobbyvickers In the middle of building the company wide -> record all meetings -> feed to the AI machine -> give us daily report for areas of improvement -> manually role play biggest ones weekly Will keep the world abreast
